The homeowners wanted to expand their ranch home with a second story addition as their extended family was growing and they wanted more room for guests and family occasions. It was very important to the family that the addition look seamless and integrated on the exterior. For the interior, our clients had a very specific vision of how the staircase would be placed and how it would look. It was also necessary that the house remain livable while construction was taking place.

Our conversations during the planning process helped us determine that much of the budget should be put into the exterior look and the staircase. The clients were very happy with a simple approach to the finish and amenities of the added family room, bedroom, office and bathroom. This allowed them to put more resources into the portions of the project that were most important to them.

When the project was completed, the family had exactly the home they wanted. The seamless look of the exterior was the talk of the neighborhood for a long time. The staircase is just what they had been dreaming of and the extra space is attractive, functional and provides the extra space they wanted to accommodate their growing extended family.
